Today, I was at a restaurant with my kids. I told my 13 year old about how the very first time she said she loved me. She was 2 and it was at this very restaurant. I told her the details and even started tearing up a little. She didn't even look up from her cell phone and said, "That's fab, ma." FML
Today, I told my girlfriend I love her for the first time. She said, "Thanks." FML
Today, I told my mom, "I love you". She responded with, "What? I never told you I loved you." FML
Today, I told my mom I loved her a lot. Her reply? "Thanks." FML
Today, my daughter spoke her first words. Her dad had been practicing with her for weeks in secret. She crawled to me and said, "I poop." FML
Today, for my 18th birthday my mum gave me a black lace thong. I'm a guy. FML
Today, was my mom's birthday. I recently got my first job, thanks to her, and could finally afford to buy her something nice. I spent my first paycheck ever on buying her a very nice bracelet. She said it was nice, then asked if I would mind if she exchanged it for one she actually liked. FML
Today, it's my soon to be 12 year-old daughter's birthday. On my break at work I texted her how much I loved her and happy birthday. She replied with, "K, when will you be home? Mom won't let me open presents until you're here." Good to know I'm loved. FML
Today, my daughter asked me to hug her and tell her I love her, like I "always used to", because she “misses it.” She’s 25 years-old and acts like a little baby. FML
Today, my 15-year-old birth daughter asked if I've ever had sex. FML

For ***** sake people, wearing a thong does not make a girl a ****. Stop calling the OP a bad parent because she bought her daughter some underwear. To the OP: I'm sorry that your daughter can be a bitch, but she is a teenager. I'm sure that she's told you that she loves you before, you just don't remember it. When she gets gets out of the teenage years, she'll be much more like a human being and will be able to express emotions normally.

Yeah. Wearing a thong won't make a 16 year old a *****, hormones will make a 16 year old a *****. I don't think this is bad parenting. My mom bought my first one, she just didn't know it. She gave me money and I bought it. She wasn't upset when she found out. I'm 22 and if I remember correctly, when I was in grade 7 loads of girls wore thongs every single day. I mean you could see the top of them from the back of their jeans. I'd rather see a thong than a naked crack, and granny panties could potentially cause some serious hazing in HS. Girls can be incredibly cruel to one another.

#4: I ask myself all the time. I think it's religious weirdos that heavily believe in karma, and you have these other idiots who click YDI just because they don't think it's a FML. OP: Coming from a daughter that really doesn't get along with her mom, I don't think this is a FML. FOr one, we see thongs as sexual pieces of underwear, but their main purpose is to eliminate the panty line with certain types of pants. I don't know your daughter's reasons for wanting one, but everyone shoul d stop thinking of thongs as sexy uniform (though, if we were talking g-string, that's a different story). Secondly, you won't always get to your daughter they way you think its best. By buying her thongs, she's actually putting a little trust in you. If she wants it to look sexy, maybe that's her way of letting you know that she's at the point in her life when she wants sex. ALso, now, she's thinking that maybe her mom isn't as lame as she previously thought. SOOOOOOOO I really think you should accept your daughter's love.
