Today, I have my very first gynecologist appointment. I'm 15. My mom wants to "be on the safe side" and make sure I'm not sexually active. This is my punishment for being a virgin. FML

Today, my mom decided to give me a solid reason for not having pre-marital sex. She told me that my future husband will want me to be tight for our first time. My mom and I were on a ski lift. The ride lasted 10 more uncomfortable minutes. FML

Today, my mother is such a helicopter parent, she wouldn’t let me go to my first appointment with my new gynaecologist without being in the room, to “keep an eye on him”. When I told her to stay out, she started screaming in the waiting room that I was going to be raped without her there. FML

Better safe than sorry, I guess? That does suck though, seeing as it's not necessary until you are sexually active. So that's a lot of discomfort for nothing. Your mom not trusting you is pretty rough, too. Sorry, OP!

Seeing as laws have changed, they won't examine you. The new law is 21 years of age, every 2 years. I'm sexually active and they refuse to give me a regular exam at 19 because of the new laws

Lol sounds like my friend, she's 14 and had a gynecologist just the other day because her mom thinks shes sexually active. Shes a virgin, but she's getting put on birth control.

Ask the gyno for a prescription for the pill while you're there and remind rhem that confidentiality applies and they can't tell your mother a single thing about you or your sexual status.

Your insurance may potentially refuse to pay for it, but they wouldn't refuse to see you. First of all, it's a recommendation, not a law. Second of all, the previous recommendation was 18 or when you become sexually active, but that in no way prevented non-sexually active 15 year olds from going, so why should it now?
