Today, I have my very first gynecologist appointment. I'm 15. My mom wants to "be on the safe side" and make sure I'm not sexually active. This is my punishment for being a virgin. FML

Tell your mom, now that you had something shoved up your ****** by a doctor, you're curious what a penis feels like.

Better safe than sorry, I guess? That does suck though, seeing as it's not necessary until you are sexually active. So that's a lot of discomfort for nothing. Your mom not trusting you is pretty rough, too. Sorry, OP!

your 15 you should be a virgin, that's way too young your only a freshman in highschool!

Generalization!! At 15 I was a senior in highschool. But yes felt I was too young for it myself at that time. There were many who didn't and slept around and there were others who only slept with their highschool sweethearts (which changed every year for most and had a heck of a lot cheating). So to each their own! However, I learned as a general lesson in life that when your hormones are screaming at you to do something, more often that not it's a bad idea. XD

You should be having yearly check ups anyway.. This allows them to check for cancerous cells in your cervix. It is good to get in the habit of prioritizing your health over comfort.

Not at 15 they shouldn't. There's no reason for it. The current recommendation is 21.

Jesus.... If people want to **** their own lives, let them. I'm 15, and sex is natural- but my generation is too stupid to realize to wait. I know i'll have sex with my fiance or whatever. But that's when i'll be like 28 or so.

?? Why set preconceived age limits on it? For some it happens at 17 or 18, and that's the right time for them. For others it happens later. Just waiting for the sake of waiting - or achieving some sort of age goal seems so pointless. You're 15, and haven't had sex yet - and that's a good thing. Less so because of your age per se, and more so because you've worked out what works for you, and you've made decisions based on that self-awareness. You rock girl! With that kind of clarity, you'll go very far in this world. :o)

Wow! Is this really the reason your mother gave for taking you to a gynaecologist? What a stupid concept! "I'll just get a male stranger to look and feel inside you without your permission, just to make sure no one caring and intimate has touched you with your permission." Almost as sad is that she should have been arranging for a pap smear for you for a few years now. True irony: it's possible that you'll get a correct result (your being checked for cervical cancer) for all the wrong reasons.

1. Gynecologists don't have to be male. 2. Why should she have been arranging this for years? They recommend you start getting them when you're 21. OP still has 6 years before that.

Wanna sell your verginity i can promise 2 things 1 its going to hurt cause its more fun that way and 2 it will be the worst lay of your life

You should get in the habit of getting pap smears annually at a young age. However, when you get there, you still don't want to get it, say "no." The gyno is legally obligated to do what YOU say, not your mom. If s/he still insists, they're a pervert and should be thrown in jail. If your mom throws a hissy-fit, tell her you're not the type of girl who wants strangers putting their fingers in your ******.

Look, its not that bad. I'm 15 and I just had my first apppointment today, you can request to have a female doctor. I did. And I didn't have to get a pap smear. And as for the "I'mma guy and I have to get my nuts juggled around by a dude!" Just wait till you get your prostate exam. THEN you can complain.

Prostate exam at 15? :S that can't be right. I thought you only start when you're in your 20s at the youngest.

Why are ur parents pushing u to have sex at16???? Ur still a child... This world is messed up

You make no sense Nick she said wait until you get a prostate exam, not that boys have to get one at 15..geez and for your I thought it's in your 20's you get your first one typically at 50 unless a family member has died from prostate or colon cancer at a young age then it's 10 years younger than they were when they were diagnosed. So if your parent was 28 and diagnosed with prostate cancer then you would go in at 18 and have it check and every few years after that depends on drs orders
