Today, I figured out how my birth control works. If you're on your period for four months straight you can't have sex, so you won't be pregnant. FML

I think you should see your doctor, because that's not normal :o

You should really go to a specialist for this, it could be a serious problem down the line.

That exact thing happened to me with the depo shot. It was the worst. But I switched and no more probs. good luck OP

I had the same problem. I found I had to take a week break from the active pills to have a period to stop it lasting for the whole month. My doctor made me stop taking the pill when I started getting migraines and now I'm not taking anything and I'm back to the same problem. It sucks so much. I feel your pain.

You can't have sex when you are on your period?

my gf had that, it was 6 months of that before she stopped getting periods 24/7. with some birth controls they do that

I got my implanon in for 2 months and my period comes pretty much every second week and my mood swings were going nuts. Some people say implanon makes u You fat but surprisingly I wasn't gaining any weight instead my body was fitter than ever. But I took it out because it made me over think a lot and I didn't like it. But seriously period for a month straight is ridiculous

It's not an actual period if the pills have been taken correctly. It's withdrawal bleeding.

A 4 month period sounds absolutely horrible. That sucks. But you should probably get checked out OP.

Technically you can have sex, go get checked out though

I just had mine removed for that reason. (It was the implant). It does suck that's happening to you. Your doctor might be able to give you a low dose pill to stop the bleeding. And if that doesn't work/appeal to you, there's no shame in trying a different kind. There are plenty out there.

PCOS? Because that used to happen to me on the pill too. It SUCKS! And that was my theory too! Ha! I gave up on all of them because even the strongest ones I had break-through on. Go to the doctor and they can give you something to stop your period not (primalut it's called in Australia) and then consider going off it and either trialling different things like IUD's. I ended up deciding that with PCOS if I got pregnant naturally it was a blessing and I'd raise the child on my own. Unfortunately 13 years later I am still childless however!
