Reminder

Today, I went to visit my parents. Dad went on a religious tirade, and Mum got sick of him and pelted a Brazil nut at his head. Dad then lost his shit, and told Mum to go to her room and pray. I now remember why I moved out of home in the first place. FML

My parents have a bunch of books from the days when they were semi religious as part of a community. One of them is right behind me on a bookshelf, and it is entitled, "Caring for God's people", and also others who may require help. It's 128 pages of non evangelistic guidance on how to help those who are needy. I personally am an outspoken agnostic atheist, but you can not say religion as a whole is a bad thing. Most Christians, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs or anything else will go out of their way to follow the teachings of their prophets, and these are more often than not very good acts.

I agree with you most people who follow a religion are friendly helpful people. you never hear anything about these people tho becuase its only bad things that make good news apparently. In fact most people in the world are good honest people regardless of whether they follow a religion or not. In most groups it only takes a few people with bad intentions to ruin the whole groups reputation

For those unaware of the difference, here it is. Atheism or Theism is a position of belief. Agnosticism or gnosticism is a position of knowledge. One can be both an atheist and agnostic or in direct opposition a gnostic theist. The more you know.

I'm gonna go to all efforts not to be racist here, but the thing is, three of my best friends are chinese and every single one of them has parents like that. Far Eastern culture must be more into perfection and stuff, whereas we're all lazy wankers :D.
