Yeah, I know, talking doesn't always work, but it's better to give it a serious try. And yes, a mother is not truely equal as her daughter, just like a teacher isn't truely equal as his/her students, but in both cases it's preferable to act like they are. Until the point they cross the line, then you have to show who's the boss, but still in a respectable way. This FML just reminds me about my teenage years. My father often threatened to throw away my stuff and I hated him just for saying things like that. My mother had never a reasonable talk with me, she just demanded that I listened to her 'because she was smarter than me' and she often reacted hysterical. It ruined our relationship for many years. I just think more parents should try to communicate with their children on a mature way.
