You guys are idiots. Some people live in apartments and don't have yards, and therefore can't have a grill. Do you people realize that you're stereotyping steaks?!

My favorite part of this, is that most professional chefs will only SEAR the steaks on a grill/flat top, and then finish them in the oven. It allows for a more even and better controlled heat.

I think you are forgetting about the cleaning option that will lock the oven and turn the heat up I think to as high as it can go.

Not everyone has the luxury of space to cook with a grill. While steaks maybe better grilled pan frying and finishing in the oven is an alternative for those who can't grill.
