I wonder if it caught on fire or just warmed up like the daughter planned? If it just warmed up then it's just reinforced her idea old warming non-food items in the microwave, lol.

I'm 20 and when I have a day off I still curl up on the couch with a blanket and teddy. My partner tends to join us too and he's 21. Nothing wrong with it, people like what they like.
