It's way better to be single with a cat than with a dog. If you go out after work on Friday, drink too much, and wake up Sunday to find yourself married to a stranger in Vegas, you can go home on Monday to a cat who probably napped the entire time you were gone. A dog would go batshit crazy, tear up everything, then poop in your favorite shoes for being gone for more than 8 hours.
