Off drugs or not (?) it’s pretty clear son is still a thief… My Dad used an expression “Don’t tempt an honest man.” As he explained it to me, you don’t leave things out that might tempt a person to steal them. I said to him, “but if they are an honest man, they won’t steal.” Dad replied something like you expect people to be honest, but you don’t leave valuables out… OP, sadly I think you need to report this to the police. Most people don’t really change their ways until they face consequences for their actions.

I live with an addict family member. they will lie, cheat, steal, and you mean nothing to them when they are high or in need of getting high. they will make you the villain and make you feel like you are a horrible person. it isn't your fault, do what you need to do to keep yourself and family safe.
