Better safe than sorry, I guess? That does suck though, seeing as it's not necessary until you are sexually active. So that's a lot of discomfort for nothing. Your mom not trusting you is pretty rough, too. Sorry, OP!

some parents take their daughters after they get their first period.. in a way it might make it easier when they get older but I'm 16 and sooo scared of the pap smear you have to get when you are 18!! haha

I admit pap swear appointments are uncomfortable but they are necessary. I suggest you or anyone go in for daily appointments after getting your period. You do get yeast and bacterial infections from other things besides sex.

I think you made that up based on anecdotal evidence. Try statistics next time. I hate that everyone thinks that young people are suddenly getting sluttier. Yes, this generation is more open towards talking about sex and it's portrayed in the media more often, but it doesn't mean that, I don't know, married people in the 50s actually slept in separate beds. Sleeping together was just more of a taboo topic than it is now.

That's like, the opposite of what I'd do. Of course I've only been wih one person in my life and I don't plan to be with any others so... But still. If I was raised in a way that would make my morals allow sex with more than one person I would only let "Mr. Right" in my ass. Just my pov.
