What a question…

Today, my science teacher decided not to recommend me for an honors science class for next year. The reason? Last week, I made the mistake of asking whether spray tans give vitamins in the same way as the sun. FML

Yes, they do. The orange color comes from smashed carrots, and your skin absorbs the nutrients. Come on now. That's common knowledge.

I know some teachers say there's no such thing as a stupid question, but that's a REALLY stupid question

I would suggest you speak to the teacher again and see if maybe you aren't really honors material... Or if she's being a bush.

Everyone asks stupid questions at times, but you should have been able to think through the answer to that one yourself and arrive at a solid "no." I wouldn't have recommended you.

To people saying YDI: not having knowledge doesnt mean you are disgraced in any way, and asking for the answer to a question is the only way you will gain the knowledge. Sorry people think asking questions isnt acceptable anymore OP

Asking questions is, asking stupid questions is not. As a science student on an honor roll, this is a stupid question...

IG,YLS for the stupid reason to not recommend you, but YDI for the stupid question

You can always by-pass your teachers recommendation and take whatever class you want. Its just the suggested course and isn't mandatory. It sounds like your teacher just has a low tolerance for stupid questions if he/she didn't specifically say it was due to that one question. Otherwise it may be because of half a year of stupid questions.
