Today, while riding on the car with my family, I put on my headphones and pretended to be listening to music and when my parents talked to me, I pretended I couldn't hear them. They took this opportunity to discuss how fat I was and how I can't hold down a boyfriend. They were laughing as well. FML

Today, I was eating dinner with my family. My parents didn't want me to hear what they were talking about so they decided they would spell out the words so I wouldn't understand. I didn't. FML

Today, as I woke up early to do my physics homework, I heard my parents talk about how big a disappointment I am for them. They discussed how stupid, immature and how big a burden I was. They knew I was listening. FML

Today, I discovered how pathetically introverted I am when during a car ride with my family, I said, "I really like this song" and my parents gasped because they didn't realize I was in the back seat. And I'm their only child. FML

Today, I went out with my parents and a family friend. After saying goodbye to the friend and as soon as the elevator doors shut, my parents started trash-talking the friend's looks, stature, choice of clothes, etc. Now I understand a lot about my education growing up. FML

Today, I was performing in an orchestra concert. My stand partner and I commented on people in the audience the whole time, saying how fat they were, etc. Towards the end of the concert, I realized we were sitting right by a microphone, and the whole audience could hear us. FML

Today, I was in my car and a cute guy pulled up next to me. He looked at me and smiled, but in order to be cool, I pretended not to notice. I also pretended that I was listening to music and was completely absorbed in it, singing passionately. I wasn't even listening to music and my window was down. FML

Today, I was called fat by my boyfriend's old-fashioned mom. I'm not close to fat but I'm not really skinny either so she calls me fat. She also complained that my feet makes noise when I walk and that girls shouldn't make noise when walking. This week has been hell. FML

Today, I realized I'm getting fat. When going for a drive, I plugged my phone in to listen to music. I put the phone in my lap to start driving and my gut changed the song. FML

#1, it might be the girl's fault she's overweight, but her family should not talk about this fact so cruelly- and laugh at her! Especially with her in the car.

Lol, and of course, they're ALL obese because of thyroid problems. I understand that some people have thyroid problems, but here in America, 1/3rd of the people are obese. Are you telling me that 33% of these people have thyroid problems? Some of you people need to grow up and realize that for most people it's just about eating healthy and exercising. I used to be overweight, but now I exercise a lot and I'm not. But I never once blamed it on a problem I didn't have. OP: If you're gonna ignore your parents, at least commit to it and turn on your music. If not, you're going to hear the same exact thing on every car ride with your family. You can choose to change your weight and your boyfriend problem, or you can just ignore your family (For REAL this time), but stop complaining about it.

That's really mean of your family. I wonder if maybe they were trying to get your attention because they knew you were faking the headphone thing? But even so, they shouldn't say things like that. On the other hand, it isn't nice of you to ignore them like that either. And why wouldn't you -actually- listen to music instead of pretending to?? Oh and I think you meant 'in' the car, not 'on' it... At least I hope so...
