Today, my mom is sulking because I won’t let her house-sit for me while I’m away for 4 months. Her house is a pigsty, a hoarder would be ashamed to live in her house, and growing up in that house is what gave me an OCD for cleaning, yet she thinks I should trust her promises that she’ll keep my house tidy. FML

Today, I decided to clean the whole house as a surprise for my mother. When she came home, she screamed at me and called me a bitch because she had wanted to clean it herself. FML

Today, I came home to find that my mother had cleaned my room, and she'd done a very good job, too. So good in fact, that she even managed to remove all of the furniture, replacing it with a note that said, "It's time to go, sweetie XO". FML

Today, my mother told me she thinks it is time for me to move into my own place. I agreed with her and went to look at studios/flats online. She later came into my room, saw me looking at places and then got pissed off at me, saying that I hate her for wanting to leave her. FML

Today, my mom’s house is so dirty and cluttered, there's hardly any space left for actually living in it. Two months ago, she intended to finally organize and tidy up. Now, she's bought a trailer and is simply moving into that instead. FML

Today, after losing my job, my apartment and my man, I had to move back in with my mom, at 37. She’s a total slob; I can’t function without clean, organized spaces. So, hey, at least I have a new full-time job now: cleaning up after her. FML

I agree. I think she was talking about his room at his house and she's disappointed that he's an adult and still has a dirty room. She's probably thinking "I raised you better than that." Either she stopped by when he wasn't home or she is referring to the last time he had her over.

I feel for you, OP. I moved out almost 4 years ago. And the one day I visited my parents place, my mom told me "Go do the dishes. You haven't done it in a long time." And when I pointed out that I don't live there anymore she just said, "So?" .___.

I did do it. I have no problem doing chores when I visit. I just didn't appreciate the remark of me not doing chores anymore when I no longer live there.
