Today, my boyfriend woke up wheezing terribly, aching, and sneezing. He's allergic to cats. I have 2 and they are my babies. He gave me an ultimatum, him or the cats. I haven't figured out how I'm going to tell him that I choose the cats. FML

Today, after being diagnosed with cat allergies, I explained to my cat-loving boyfriend that the doctor strongly recommended not allowing the cat in the bedroom. At 1:30 a.m. my boyfriend got out of the bed to go sleep in the spare room because, "the cat is sad." FML

She's not a crazy cat lady. When you commit to keeping a pet, you're committing to them for the rest of their lives. Boyfriends and girlfriends come and go, but a healthy, indoor cat can live for up to 12-15 years. It's completely understandable for people to treat their pets as if they were their own children, their best friends or their family because of this. Allergy medication is the obvious solution though. xD

Okay, so I just wanted to tell you that it's not a bad thing to be gay or a lesbian, and you should stop speaking like it is. You're a ******* dumbass for reacting like that. From the FML it seems like Op's (ex)boyfriend didn't know how allergic to her cats he was, which means they can't have been together that long, or he'd have known. He obviously didn't love her or he wouldn't have made her choose. That's rediculus, first of all, he probobly realy liked you, considering he tried to put up with his allergies as best he could, without making anyone worry. And sence he sleeping over, the relationship isn't like some fling, it sounds rather serious. The easiest way to avoid this problem would be giving the cats to a close friend, so they can still be seen and loved, and you could continue dating. Don't think I'm an animal, hater, I have pets, and if I was put in this situation, I would do just that!
