Today, my boyfriend woke up wheezing terribly, aching, and sneezing. He's allergic to cats. I have 2 and they are my babies. He gave me an ultimatum, him or the cats. I haven't figured out how I'm going to tell him that I choose the cats. FML

Bravo for keeping your cats! It's nice to see at least one person who won't dump them just because their bf is allergic.

i liek animals alot. but idk how you would pick them over him. animals only live certain amount of years....people live longer....but its your choice

I was thinking "FHisLife", but really you're doing him a favor since you don't even love him any more than a pet. He's lucky to be rid of you.

I'd go for the cats as well. Plenty of other guys out there. Screw him for giving you an ultimatum.

The boyfriend was the one who made her decide her family members (cats) or him.

Yeah, but relationships usually don't last as long as cats. And what if her (ex-)boyfriend dies early? You can't say all humans live longer than animals. EDIT: response to #512

isn't there medicine for that? my sister lives with two cats and she's allergic.

3 things 1) cats are evil 2) allergy pills do nothing for cat allergies for most [because cats are evil] 3) there are about 5000 asthma related deaths every year, and the main cause of asthma is allergies

1) So my cute little kitten that likes to cuddle up to me and has never bitten/scratched anyone is evil? 2) Proof? 3) Then they shouldn't be near cats. Especially stay at the house where someone has them. He should have invited his girlfriend to his house, which is probably cat-free.

OP made the right choice. Unless the guy was the love of my life (which is unlikely, because if he was the love of my life, he'd know I had cats long ago) and he gave me that kind of ultimatum with that kind of attitude, I'd say "Don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out." I wouldn't expect OP to give up her beloved pets for some guy that's likely to break up with her anyway down the line. Better off to find a nice guy that's not allergic to cats, especially if she wants to have them in the future. Unless she's like 50 years old, she has plenty of time to find someone else.

186- STFU! FMGrammar? learn some grammar. people have a right to their ******* opinion, so shut it and **** off if you don't care about those said opinions. as for 164- you obviously have no idea what it's like to have an amazing animal. I have a cat, who I love so much, it's indescribable. I love that cat more than I love just about anyone else. he means more to me than a human ever could. if a s/o of mine were to tell me "me or the cat?" I'd say: you know where you shit is. have a nice life (: I think cats are way more loveable than humans. the thing about cats is that they show their affection in a truthful manner, and unlike the ****** up human race, they don't lie about how they feel. if they cuddle up with you; they love you A LOT. a human could easily do the same and plot to kill you, just saying. cats don't have the devious minds that humans do. so cats > humans anyday of my life
