Today, my boyfriend woke up wheezing terribly, aching, and sneezing. He's allergic to cats. I have 2 and they are my babies. He gave me an ultimatum, him or the cats. I haven't figured out how I'm going to tell him that I choose the cats. FML

Today, after being diagnosed with cat allergies, I explained to my cat-loving boyfriend that the doctor strongly recommended not allowing the cat in the bedroom. At 1:30 a.m. my boyfriend got out of the bed to go sleep in the spare room because, "the cat is sad." FML

Good for you OP. Boyfriends come and go, and it's unlikely that this one would've lasted, considering that most relationships don't work out. If you had chosen the boyfriend, most likely a while down you'd be posting a FML about how you got rid of your babies for your boyfriend and your boyfriend just left you. Find a guy who likes cats, and you'll be much happier.

I believe OP chose the right thing. I would chose my beloved cats instead of a boy. There are plenty of fish in the sea, but I wouldn't sacrifice a boy for a loving family member (which people do call animals). Loving your animal doesn't make you a "crazy cat lady" or anything. Just because you like a food doesn't mean you're a "crazy pizza lady" or something.

There is such a thing as allergy shots, and allergy medication. He could wind up only sneezing if the cat sticks its fur in his face. Also, this is more his FML than yours.

definitely choose the cats. what kind of bastard are you dating that would make you give up your cats? besides, if you two broke up, hey at least you still have your cats. how awful would that be, breaking up and realizing you abandoned your beloved pets for nothing?
