Today, I went to my orthodontist where I was informed that I'll going to the prom, to my brother's wedding, and maybe to university with braces in my mouth. FML

I had braces for years... many people do.... jeez, get over it princess.

Having braces doesnt suck.. its normal. But what is GOING to suck is actually wearing them. It HURTS like hell .. your lips get BROKEN inside the mouth. The pain lasts for a week. And then every time u meet orthodontist (every month) its going to hurt AGAIN .. for some days. .. I have braces :D

might not be fyl some people look better with braces some look better without. it's better than having crooked teeth either way.

I had braces twice then jaw surgury trust me braces won't be to bad ask about the tooth colored ones :-) they won't be as bad cuz it's clearish

My brother just got his braces off after 8 years. He had to go to his prom, and 2 years of university with them. Sure he didn't like it, but he didn't let it bother him too much. There are worse things in life, OP. Get over it.

Yup, I was the "lucky" one and only had 4! But he had teeth growing in sideways and through the roof of his mouth and all sorts of fun stuff. Our little sister started hers after him and got them off before him!

Agreed, same thing is happening to my brother, this is gonna be his 5th year with braces. So, there are worse things in life. They might not be comfortable at first but then the results are all that matters. Many people have braces, get over it.

Oh my God tig, that made me shudder. Teeth creep me out anyway, but sideways and roof-of-the-mouth teeth?! Ugh. Makes my toes curl, and not in the good way.
