Today, I was planning on going on a date with a girl I've really liked. She told me today was the only we could hang out before her trip. I got an expensive hair cut, planned on cooking her dinner, and pulled a few strings and got on the list for a big concert. Turns out she'd rather go shopping FML

Today, I bought my girlfriend two tickets to a Broadway show that was coming through town she really wanted to see. I couldn't attend with her due to work so she said she would take her mom. I found out later she took her ex. Now they're back together, and I paid for the date that made it happen. FML

Today, I was going to hang out with the girl I like, because she was leaving for the rest of the Summer. She had to cancel to go shopping with her grandma "all day." At 1 o'clock, she came online and told me how much fun she had with this guy I really don't like. She forgot that she lied to me. FML

Today, the girl I've had a crush on for a year finally said she'd go out with me. On the way over to pick her up, she called me and said she couldn't go because she was going out to dinner with her ex-boyfriend to talk things over. She asked if she could use the reservations I had made. FML

Today, I had a date with a girl. Wanting to make a good impression, I spend a lot of time getting ready and by the time I get to the place we were supposed to meet she isn't there anymore. I call her to see where she is. She's in bed with another guy and says "I was REALLY waiting for you". FML

Today, a coworker invited me out for a date, totally out of the blue. I had no idea she liked me, but I did my best to impress. She ordered the most expensive steak on the menu, two bottles of wine, and eventually picked up and went home with our waiter. I got the bill. FML

Today, I took a girl out on a date. We had dinner, we had good conversation, the vibe was excellent, and everything was great. I took her to a bar I frequent after for a couple of drinks to finish the night. She left with some other dude on his motorcycle. FML

So go shopping with her. How terrible is must be to go shopping with a girl. It's not all about you and granted it's a lot to just drop for shopping but you said a date with "a girl you really like" and not your girlfriend which implies a first date. That's a bit much for a first date.

FYL doubly if she didn't mean with you, buuuuut Seriously, all of that for a first date? I know you want to make a good impression, but jeez man don't tidal wave her. "Shopping" is actually a great way to get to know her; basically all you do is walk around the mall and talk... unless she's one of those stupid bitches who just want a guy to carry all her things, buys only for herself, makes you go into stores you don't want to, and blabbers on her cellphone to her gurrrlfriends all damn day.

"expensive haircut" thats already an instant fail. just throw some axe hairgel in there and rub your hands thru it...and voila you look do-able. unless your ugly.
