Today, I finally sought help for my crippling fear of elevators. When I arrived at my new therapist's office, I found the door to the stairs locked. To get to my appointment on the third floor of the building, I have to take the elevator. FML

So you’re saying that your fear has been elevated to new heights?

Well that's one way to overcome your fear.

Immersion therapy right off the bat eh? This therapist doesn’t play around!

That's when you call the office, and ask someone to come down the stairs to get you? Worst would be to re-schedule! :)

What if this was part of your therapy, to see how you'd react? Still, you went to a therapist to seek help and obviously, this wasn't the best start. I believe you are capable of overcoming this OP. Merry Christmas.

Look on the bright side: the only way to go from here is up! Or back the way you came, or to a sublevel I suppose, if that building has one.

Do you think this was maybe your therapist set this all up?
