Today, I decided to play a joke on my boyfriend and planned to pretend that I found a thong in his gym bag. When he came home, I "confronted" him. After struggling through putting on my best face, he, unexpectedly confessed: "Look, babe, I'm sorry. It meant nothing." FML

tried to play a joke, or tried to test him and then he failed?

I mean, what did you expect? Best case scenario, you piss off your boyfriend by pulling a stunt like that. Worst case, you find out he's cheating on you. Sorry, kinda your fault.

What kind of joke is that? I agree with pretty much everyone else, you FAIL. You deserved this. ;D

Maybe he saw through your trick and decided to make it backfire.

You guys have no sense of humor. Funny joke, and I agree, your life is f*cked.

first of all that was a stupid joke. second of all at least you found out. and third of all he should have denied it... unless he knew the girl he cheated with specifically put the thongs in his gym bag? and why would she? he's stupid hahaha. you're better off without him.

Pulling a prank like that would have ended fine if he hadn't been a piece of shit boyfriend. It's good you know the TRUTH now!!

I would suggest talking with your boyfriend... because seriously, think about this whole prank from his point of view. Somehow, a thong mysteriously winds up in his gym bag and his girlfriend finds it. He honestly has no idea how it got there. His girlfriend is ragging on him about it, wanting an explanation and accusing him of cheating, but he has none because he truly doesn't know. So since his girlfriend obviously isn't buying the whole, "I don't know!" thing, how the heck else is he going to explain it to her, who is pressuring him about it? He's going to take the blame for something he didn't do, because he probably thought it was the only answer she'd accept, especially with the "evidence" being so clear. Am I making a point here? While there is a possibility he could be cheating, I don't think it's the case here. I mean, he admitted to cheating when you presented to him a thong from his gym bag that you put in there. Odds are, he didn't know how to convince you that he wasn't cheating, so he just took the rap.
