As the child of an alcoholic who will probably never stop and will die because of her liver, despite all I have done and suffered through to try and help her, I feel your daughter should be the one writing on this website.

She's 7. That means she's in the second grade. Don't jump to the conclusion that the guy is a hardcore wifebeating drunk. She probably heard some DARE or MADD propaganda in school, and being the lovable little girl that she is, doesn't want poor daddy to get liver disease and die, leaving mommy as a destitute pill popper and deemed an unfit parent, leaving little tabitha teetotaller a ward of the state. I congratulate you in not completely ignoring this moment, and I think someday you can look back on to this in a positive way or a negative way.
