Today, the 6 year old girl I was babysitting asked me, "Why are you so ugly? Are you an alien? Because aliens are about as ugly as you are." FML
Today, my grandfather told me that I was ugly. When my mom found out, she said that, "Old people are allowed to tell the truth." FML

Everyone has a redeemable quality, there has yet to be a human made that is completely unattractive in every way. Your mom may have been joking around with you (or just being a jerk, who knows) but I'm sure you look just fine. No worries, OP.
