Confused

Today, my stepmom sat me down and told me that she doesn't think that my dad is my biological father because she hasn't gotten pregnant from him. I don't think she quite understands the concept of being a stepmom. FML

I think your stepmom is implying that your dad is sterile. She means that siince she's never gotten pregnant from him, your mom probably didn't either.

Yeah I think your step mom means she hasn't gotten pregnant from your dad and perhaps there may be a fertility issue. Either way it's an awkward conversation none the less.

Today I tried telling my stepchild that their father and I are trying, unsuccessfully for a child together. I drew the link that my husband may not be my stepchilds biological father because our unsuccessfulness may come from him being infertile. The child now thinks I believe I am their biological mother. I married into a family of imbeciles. FML

Secondary infertility is a thing, even for guys. They really should go get tested, she needs to temp etc if they both really want a child together.
