Bad boy!

Today, I dog-sat for my neighbors' pitbull. Weighing in at 100 pounds with a nasty bite, this dog is no lap dog, but I treated it as one - not knowing how deadly this dog could be - beckoning it towards me with my hand. I now have 6 stitches in my hand and arm, and the neighbors didn't pay me. FML

You've got to be kidding me. They're not even paying your doctor's bills? If my dog bit someone, I'd bend over backwards to help that someone so that they wouldn't get my dog put to sleep. What jerks you have for neighbors!

#2. Not all pitbulls are vicious. Most people would assume a family pet is friendly. The neighbors should have warned that their dog is mean. A good owner will socialize the dog so that it's not afraid of strangers. And if you know your dog doesn't like certain things, like people motioning it to come over, you tell them. You should sue. Dogs that bite people get put down.

unfortunately it sounds like that dog needs to be put down. I say that sadly.

thats why you stay away from pitbulls

To not be a problem, they need to be raised correctly. This fact is actually true of most terrier breeds, not just pit bulls. The biggest problem is that some people tend to gravitate toward them because of their bad reputation, and that only makes things worse. Your neighbors are clearly not capable of owning a breed that needs any kind of training, so you should report the bite before it bites someone smaller and more defenseless.

just to let you morons that think pits should be illegal most of them are great pets and more loyal than most dogs ... pits actually pass temperament testing more than your beloved golden retriever ... because they are so loyal they will do what their owner wants and that is why the stupid neighbors should not be allowed to have any type of dog. it was wrong for them to ask someone who may not have understood how to act around a dogs they were not familiar with or to even ask someone to watch their dog if they knew that it may bite. for future reference anytime you are watching a pet for someone make sure that both you and the animal are comfortable in advance. i have a pit now and she wouldn't hurt a fly she is actually scared of her own shadow, but at the same time i have a 4 lb toy poodle that will come up to wagging his tale and then latch on to and not let go and just to clear it up for those people that think the bigger a pit is the better it is you are the type of idiot that thinks owning this dog will make you cool and you should shut your mouth and actually learn about the breed ... standard for pits ... males 45-60 lbs no taller than 21 inches at the shoulder females should stand no more than 19 inches at the shoulder and be no more than 55 lb ... granted there are pits that are bred to be bigger but all that does is mess with their natural ability and their low center of gravity which is why they are such good at moving in ways that most dogs cant without losing balance final note ... its sucks that you got bitten and someone has to check on the dogs and the owners to make sure that they are treating the dog the way they should be ... they should be paying your hospital bill ... before pet sitting be comfortable around the animal ... and to all the idiots out there do some actual research (not reading news stories) before you bad mouth anything or claim to know something

Sue them. Knock it up for pain and suffering.

That dog should be put down. Though maybe it would be hard to live with an angry neighbour...

ydi for your excessive failed attempts at loquacity and impressive grammar.

#99, you said what I was trying to say, but you did it better.

#6 and #29, you make me want to vomit. Pits can be the cutest, sweetest animals. If your logic is accurate, all monkeys should be killed because of that one that ripped that woman's face off. Do your research. More people are injured by trains every year than pits.
