Chubrub

Today, my boss had to order some more work pants since mine were worn out after 7 months. He told me the next set I would have to buy myself, since they usually last workers about 2 years, and I must be treating them too roughly. I didn't want to admit that my thighs rubbing together ended up shredding the fabric. FML

He should understand if you explain to him! I ruin all my jeans like that too. I've learned to put a few pieces of duct tape on one or both thighs, it really helps extend pant life.

I'm sorry OP. I would just tell him; no need to be embarrassed. Thighs sometimes rub, and it definitely sucks when clothes get rubbed thin or rip altogether because of that. Good luck OP. I hope it all works out!

Or wearing tight fitting underwear like hiking underwear or biking shorts would also help.

True, but that isn't really his concern, is it now. Almost all employees who require work clothing have it in their contract. An employee will receive one free set every year (for example) and everything else for said employee's own cost...

How would underwear help? Underwear doesn't cover thighs...

Underwear that is meant to prevent chafing/rubbing does cover your thighs...

Depending on what fabric the pants are made of, you could sew a piece of fabric on the inside from the centre seam down the thigh on each side, that's what I do when I get new work pants and jeans to extend their life.

Maybe you should find a job where you don't need to wear pants ;)

Go to a fabric store and find iron on patches. Ideally, the kind you'd see on the elbows of a sweater. Put them on the inside of the thighs where the fabric rubs. It'll support the material and the pants won't fall apart so fast, and since the patches are on the inside, nobody knows they're there.

Yep. I destroy pants left and right with my thighs.

I've gone through several pairs of pants that way. Sometimes within an entire year.

I have the same issue. Just means yer inner thighs are thick.

congratulations on discovering your super power... now go save the world Captain Thunder Thighs!
