Today, I returned to my teaching job at a local community college after surfing for the weekend. I'd got sunburned, one student immediately noticed and said to me, "Morning, Mr. Pinky!" Now they all do it. My students are assholes. I hate teaching. FML

Today, I was badly sunburnt even after making it a point to apply a lot of sunscreen. My coworkers thought it amusing to slap me every chance they get. FML
Today, I started my first teaching job ever. As I was teaching, another teacher interrupted my class about 5 times because she thought it was her class. Not only did she ruin my confidence, her behavior caused my students to laugh at me. FML
Today, I made the egregious mistake of going on RateMyTeachers. My students think that, while I'm a good teacher, I have constant "wardrobe malfunctions" and spill my "bloody ass tampons all over the place like a bitch". I teach 6th graders. FML
Today, I went to my job as an aide for first-grade students. I went home with a swollen face after my student punched me because I was, "making the timer go too fast" and he wanted more iPad time. FML
Today, I was teaching and a boy sitting in front kept laughing and smiling, even after I asked him to cut it out. I got so annoyed that I jokingly said I'd knock his teeth out, and asked him to leave the class. The kid went to the principal and told him I intended to hurt him. I'm a college professor. FML
Today, I caught one of my students checking out my butt while I was helping another student at his table. I teach 8th grade. FML
Today, I went to attend my summer school class again after being out sick for a week. When I said "Here" during roll call, everyone started cheering and clapping. Apparently, my professor has been badmouthing me while I've been absent for pretending to be sick. I'm sure my grade will be fantastic. FML
Today, a student set me on fire while I was lecturing my class about proper lab safety. FML
Today, a student told me to fuck off. I work with 3 year-olds. FML
Today, after being annoyed one too many times by my students' whiney attitudes, I accidentally blurted out, "Quit being such a bitch," to the superintendent's daughter. FML

if this is the worst they have come up with, I don't think you're doing too bad. I'm sure I'll get downthumbed for this but really grinds my gears. I hope this attitude of yours doesn't show when you're teaching, OP. assholes? really? perhaps you treat them like assholes, so they act like assholes to you. there are too many teachers that can't find a job. maybe rethink your career choice, OP. someone out there won't mind teaching those "assholes." we have to teach these kids to be more respectful.

I don't even think they were even trying to be mean or mess with him. It's a joke and it's funny. Lighten up and I bet your job teaching will be much more fun. Joke around with them, even come up with a better nickname, "uhh that's Mr. Crispy thank you very much."

Oh the times! Humor or not, when I think about my time in school, we'd NEVER would have dared to call our teachers with nicknames. Call me square or outdated, but I think unrespectful are students the real problem here and not a teacher who can't take a joke.

I'm a teacher and a vocal advocate for my profession, but sometimes students are assholes (I've got two published FMLs to prove it) and sometimes my job really sucks. Sometimes I hate it, complain about it, and threaten to quit. Doesn't mean I'm not a good or passionate teacher-- it means I'm a human being who gets frustrated with her job like everyone else. Though OP should toughen up a bit, I can see how this situation would be annoying.
