Today, I was at my girlfriend's house having dinner with her and her parents. I was casually playing footsie with my girlfriend under the table, until her mom stopped eating and said, "You know that's my foot, right?" FML
Today, I told my girlfriend that I'm breaking up with her because she's very abusive. After a couple of seconds of awkward silence, she kicked me in the nuts and ran away. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend about my foot phobia. To help me "get over it", he took his socks off, pinned me down, and rubbed his foot against my face until I started sobbing. FML
Today, I was talking to this guy I liked at work. He was flirting with me, and everything was going great, I was so happy, until he started talking non-stop about the extent of his foot fetish. FML
Today, my girlfriend said she hates my feet and it’s a real turn off. It’s got to the point where if she sees my feet in bed she won’t sleep in the same bed as me. I hate wearing socks in bed, so not sure how we can resolve this. FML

how weird is your foot fetish? my husband hates feet and would have a panic attack if he finds any toe nail clippings on the floor. as in he has to go somewhere in the yard to clip his toenails and prefers everyone to do the same as stray clippings can fly anywhere. some people are seriously anti feet.

That's nasty! I walked away from a 6 year marriage for that same disgusting reason. You can't expect her to stick around if it's something that repulses her. As much as he has a right to his fetish, she has a right to disassociate herself from something she finds repulsive. How can anyone say she should has just gotten over it. It's one thing to disagree or be repulsed by a fetish, it's another thing to associate that person as their fetish, or see them as repulsive for something they could enjoy on their own time. OP has a right to be happy too. He trusted his now ex, as I assume, to tell her something that he's probably been shamed for. The least she could have done was simply say, "I'm not into that fetish, and it makes me uncomfortable". It's pretty sad when one gives up the relationship over a simple fetish. It's not like OP was getting a sex change after all. He just likes feet.

I applaud your courage in telling your ex about your fetish, you should be able to express yourself in a relationship, especially in the bedroom. Everyone has different kinks that need to be respected. That being said, I don't think I could stay with someone who wanted to explore a foot fetish. I absolutely detest feet. I don't like foot rubs, I hate pedicures, so it extends to my feet too. I just don't like feet at all. This is a part of me as much as it is a part of someone else to have a foot fetish. Yes, the ex responded in an extremely immature way, but that sounds more like she was waiting for an excuse, rather than she was being close minded. If the roles were reversed, I wouldn't want to be with someone who didn't share in my fetish because exploring a fetish is completely natural and shouldn't need to be ignored. It sucks what happened OP, but I'm sure you will find someone you are sexually comparable with. You deserve to find someone who will explore your desires with. Don't let what happened cause you to shy away from telling future partners, and telling them earlier on could cause less heartache. Based on a lot of these comments, it sounds like it is a fairly common fetish, so you may not need to look too far for a comparable partner :)
