Today, my husband and I were diagnosed with herpes. We've been together for five years and were both virgins before. Even the doctor couldn't give any other explanation. FML

Getting herpes from the toilet is just as unlikely as getting it from your parents. It's passed on through due to skin-on-skin contact. Most likely someone cheated.

STD stands for SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED disease. You aren't just born carrying them...

Did you skip 6th grade health class? Men do not just carry the genes for STD's, NO ONE DOES. They are transmitted through sexual contact (or sharing sex toys/ hygiene products that are inserted) or contact with contaminated blood, these are the only ways in which they are transmitted. The transmission for sex toys/toilet seats/hygine products are relatively rare as the viruses/bacteria do not live more than a few minutes outside the body. The only children who are born with an STD are children born to mothers who have already contacted the virus. I really hope you arent having sex without this VERY basic anatomy knowledge.
