Maybe your wife is missing France and is hoping to move there one day with you and the baby. Your daughter won't have any problem in France with this sweet name.

In Finland Fanny (also Fanni) is very old and common name. If you live in France (and it's common in there too) not England or USA the name will not be problem, I think..

I am from France and i like this name. Maybe it means something different here but it's a good way to keep her origins showing! My Amerian husband likes this name as well.
