Today, I went to the orthodontist, and found out when I was supposed to get my braces off. His exact words, "You'll get them off around Christmas... but we're not sure what year." FML

Unfortunately not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign, otherwise I wouldn't be spending 3 and a half years with my train tracks :/

My orthodontist does something similar. He always says: "Oh! You'll have you braces in 6 months!!" 6 months later at another appointment he says: "Yeah...it's gonna be another year. Keep wearing those braces!"

I know it's hard OP but it's worth it. I had braces for close to 5 years & now I'm not self-conscious about my smile. It's a pain in the ass but the pay out is worth it. :)

I'm sorry OP, I had braces from 4th or 5th grade up until 9th grade. It felt amazing getting them off! It'll be worth it, I promise! Just make sure to listen to your orthodontist.

Is it not possible he meant they weren't sure which side of the new year it'll happen but it will still be around then? So December 25th +/- 15 days?

I had mine for two years. It's a pain, but once you get them off, it's so worth it.

It's totally worth it. My friend had braces for 9 years and just got them off. Just make sure you wear your retainers afterward if you get any. I made the mistake of not doing that and I'm in need of braces for a third time and have no ortho insurance.
