Today, I went shopping at a thrift store. I found a really cute top that fit me perfectly, so I bought it. Afterwards, I noticed the original tag was still on it. It read: "designed with your pregnancy in mind". It was a maternity top. FML

You don't have to be "fat" to fit into maternity clothes, they have them in smalls too, you know.

Some regular tops work as maternity tops too so eff it, if you like it wear it.

wow u guys are mean. its fine dont worry. people wear those all the time even when they're not prego.

I have a couple maternity tops that look really cute on me, and I've never been pregnant. Once I deliberately bought a maternity top because it was so cute. Don't worry about it.

I chuckled when i read this because I actually did the same thing. (Man, thats why i hate shopping at thrift stores. EVERYTHING is all out of order.) Just because the shirt is maternity wear, does not mean that you're fat. There are some really skinny little pregnant teenagers out there. You can't judge your body by the clothes you buy, no matter what style it is or anything.

If you're fat round your stomach, it means the fat's surrounding all your vital organs and insides, whereas if you're fat round your legs, it's just muscle with fat round it, of course neither is good, but carrying it all round your waist is worse!!

as a fellow fat chick, the only way i can see this is bad is that you're actually pregnant. you're not. go have a sundae to celebrate the find.

ooooo hahaha thats hppened to me before i ccidentally tried on a top from the mternity section at target nd the saleslady was like "um sweetie thats maternity top" god it was so embarrassing fyl

... Yea, well if u r skinny than it doesnt mattr but if not, take a hint and loose some weight!

No, it is 'loose', at least in this context. 'Lose' would mean to have lost, etc. Unless you mean that the people saying "Loose weight" should be saying "Lose weight". In that case, you're right.

this doesn't necessarily mean the OP is fat. she could've just thought it was a normal babydoll or empire waist top. which skinny people do wear. and to the OP, nobody will know it's a maternity shirt unless you show them the tag or tell them. if it looks good, wear it. also, many people commenting here should learn that it's lose, not loose. (sorry, it's a pet peeve of mine.) =]
