Today, I wanted to punish a student for being late. I decided to start a pop quiz before he arrived. I was positive there wasn't enough time for him to finish. He scored full marks and I couldn't say a word. FML

And you are the reason why I hate teachers. Why be a teacher when you clearly hate students? And this applies to all teachers, not just this one guy in particular. Teachers should want to teach for the reason of actually educating and inspiring kids, not just walking around unleashing hell on them. Grow the **** up and stop trying to "get back at a student" for being late. For all you know, there was traffic, he got in a car accident, or he puked this morning. Either way, grow the **** up and do your job without acting like a junior high kid yourself.

For all you know this kid was repeatedly late. We don't know if the OP was doing it because the kid had annoyed him repeatedly or if he was just in a bad mood when he got up this morning.

Eh, ideally teachers would all be saints of the "Lean On Me" caliber*. However, if the Malaysian education system is anything like the USA's, I don't blame OP for getting so jaded and bitter. *Yes, I realize I'm dating myself here. Good thing I'm a cheap date. O.o

Actually, if you read my profile you'd know I'm a student. That means that I'm at university. So, who do you owe that five dollars to? :P I'm defensive of teachers because I've seen what pupils can do to them.

ydi!! you should be happy he aced his quiz. you should be upset you gave it for the purposes of punishment or getting back at him. give quizzes to help them succeed.. not trying to bring them down. there are other forms of punishment like detention since most students don't freak out because of one bad quiz anyway. since I'm fresh out of school.. one bad grade isn't a big deal to kids so that was a lame way to try and get back at him anyway.
