Today, I signed up for an online dating site. In order to prove I was human and complete my registration, I had to pass a CAPTCHA. Coincidentally enough, the words in it were "depressed" and "loser". FML

True, but there's always the possibility that nobody around feels "just right" to OP. If dating somebody near you doesn't work, that's what an online dating site is for; to hopefully bring promising couples together because they seem to make a good match. I know the chances are small, but I'm sure that the few happy couples are glad they made the choice no matter how humiliating it seemed at the beginning.
