I wish there were more girls in engineering me being a guy! Not because of the physical aspect but I would like to have more intelligent conversations!

You have to cut the guys some slack. Why not stare at your boobs? And having an engineering degree, I can say looking at a girl was practically a delicacy. So the guys try to stare at boobs as much as they can. Think of it as you being the queen.

As another female engineer, I am empathetic to your plight. Please try not to let their rudeness deter you from excelling in your classes and making the most of your education so that you will be the best engineer you can be when you graduate. Make friends in other majors (pure mathematics and natural sciences are similar, but with more women), immerse yourself in your studies, and try to make time for non-engineering extracurriculars. A funny saying about the disproportionate gender ratio I heard in engineering school is "the odds are good, but the goods are odd". It's true for the most part, but hopefully you will meet some of the nicer ones as your education progresses. Best of luck to you, OP.

Another female engineer here, and I feel your pain. And in case you're curious, the ratio DOES NOT balance out in graduate school... Try checking out a SWE group if there's one at your campus!
