Today, I had a bad feeling about walking to work because of the weather. Instead, I drove. My car slid on the ice and I created a four-car pile up. All three of the other people involved have decided to sue me. I should've walked. FML

That's not really your fault though. Cars do slide on ice. No one knows when it will happen.

You should probably never trust your gut again

they really just suing your insurance but they get over on us all the time so **** it!

They won't win as it's considered an act of God due to weather so ur good insurance will take care of it

Not entirely true. It is possible op was going to fast for the current weather conditions for the car to go out of control.

I feel bad for you OP it's not really your fault you got in a car accident when it was icy I mean it is called an "Accident" I don't see how anyone could sue you for that best of wishes with your cases though

So, in your mind, if you accidentally drop a beer bottle from your 9th floor balcony, and it ended up hurting someone, it is somehow not your fault?

Technically, the driver is also fully responsible for judging if the weather conditions are safe enough to drive.

I can almost gaurantee that this is a lie

I'm pretty sure most people walk after deeming it too unsafe to drive; I've never heard it the other way around, but I guess I now what happens when you do think of it that way :P

You could be driving grandma slow and still spin out on a patch of ice. Ice is ice. That's nobody's fault. They're just upset because they didn't leave enough room to stop which, in my state, makes them at fault. Sorry OP :/

Well if they hit you you can sue them. The back car always pays

possibly you could of been involved in a 4 car pileup but without you in a car and instead in-between so this could of been a positive

In what universe is the possibility of slipping on ice more concerning than the possibility of careening into a solid object and causing thousands of dollars in damage in a steel cocoon?

Who knows, if you had walked, maybe you would've caused a FIVE car accident. Doesn't seem as bad now does it? :P
