Today, I got my first tattoo. It was a surprise for my fiancé: our names together over a heart. I went home but before I could show him, he said we had to have a 'talk.' Now my ex's name is tattooed on my back. The kicker? Turns out I'm allergic to the ink. FML

This is why you never tattoo a name on yourself. Try something symbolic, that way if this happens, it's just a tattoo and doesn't have to mean anything anymore

ask ANY artist – tattooing someone's name on you is the best way to break up with that person. if anything get the name in relief and put color around it so you can just get it filled in when you split.

Never, ever tattoo a girlfriend or boyfriend's name on your body. NEVER. No one told you this? Boyfriends and girlfriends come and go. Tattoos are (mostly) permanent.

if you're allergic then you need to get that removed. im allergic to tattoo ink (i dont have one my doctor told me) he also told me that if i did get one, being allergic, i would get blood poisoning and die. so you should get on that

That's why getting someone's name tattooed on you is a bad idea, especially without even telling the person about it first.

I have the perfect solution: change your middle name to the name of your ex. Problem solved. Just remember, this only works so many times before you start to have a really long name... Especially if you are a straight girl and not a gay guy, you really don't want to load up too much with opposite-sex middle names! :-p

your so dumb!!... y wud anyone ever want to do that??!!... my cousin did the same thing... she got her boyfriends name on her ankle... and yea after he knocked her teeth out her mouth she changed it to her name... thank god all she needed to do was add a "A".... and yea u so deserve to get an allergic reaction to the ink for maken a stupid move... i do hope ur gettin better... i dont want to know that ur in pain of the reaction to the ink... but yea... think b4 u do!!!

i guess the general concensus is that it's a BAD idea to get a name of someone on you if you're in a relationship because things like this happen... hope you learn from this one though, tough break though btw on the ex thing :(
