Today, I was finally cast in my high school play. As Violet. The gum chewer who turns into a blueberry. Does my instructor not know I'm a guy? FML

There have been plenty of times where men have been casted in female roles and vice versa. Own it and be the best Violet ever.

True and some are purposely set to have a guy play a female character. Like Edna Turnblad in Hairspray.

There's also Mary Sunshine from "Chicago." who is usually clearly played by a man. The best part is that at one point in the musical "she" actually does get revealed as being a man in drag.

You probably “fill” the roll to perfection.

As an actor myself, I don’t see why you’re complaining. Playing a female part is something you’ve likely never done so it’s a whole new level of characterization and fun. Just own the part and do the best you can! Best of luck my dude

You got cast, you ******* ingrate! Many would-be actors would give their left nut for a part! STFU and start learning your lines.

Chewing, chewing all day long!!

Just google Elizabeth Daily or Tara Strong. Plenty of people can play the reversal gender role. Don't dippity do dump the idea of being in this play simply because you'll be playing Violet.

Oompa loompa doopity Dan your teacher don't think your a man

drama teachers secretly love crossdressing roles

I literally had to Google who Violet is and honestly, it's not a gender-specific role
