Did she say duh in a bad way or did she accept you? Sounds to me like she knew and doesn't care. Def. not a FML situation, more like a Awesome Accepting Mom situation, if she does that is.
be glad she didn't kick u out or disown u or sumthin
ydi for being gay
Shut up, flakes. There is nothing wrong with being gay.
do not feed the trolls stupid
There was an episode of Seinfeld that went down like this. George wanted to postpone the wedding to the first day of Spring because he had cold feet and he had an epic speech planned, but when it came down to it, he fell apart and started crying. In any case... your mom already knew about it, so she's had time to adjust. Not really an FML, unless you're disowned.
could be worse
actually, cant be better. she already accepts you op. Has for a while. She still loves you.
Well I guess sometimes when you feel a certain way, you fear that others won't accept you. However, sometimes it's just obvious that someone you know is gay, so perhaps she just meant "duh" as a way to say she knew all along. Don't stress it. You said it, and it sounds like you were torn apart between your mother accepting you or not. Whether or not she accepts you, you said what you needed to say, and you no longer need to think about it.
Norfolk hell yeah I'm from norwich
At least it's a good thing that your mom seems to accept you! I do understand how it would feel FML-worthy, though. Like, you had all this planned and had been worrying about it for so long, only to find out it was for nothing? She already knew.
I agree with you #6. Being gay, I know how stressful a coming out thing can be.
aww im sorry. i had an epic speech to bout something different and it like fell apart too and it was just devastating and i ended up crying to -huge hugs- i accept you!
There was a Drawn Together episode where this exact situation happened. Suspicious...
At least she seems ok with it. Yay!
