Today, I was texting my mother after my boyfriend broke off our relationship. She offered incredibly supportive replies such as "No, really?" and "Aww, that sucks." before apparently getting bored and claiming she had to go because her "text reception" was breaking up. FML

Today, I got a phone call from my mother asking me if I was okay. Confused, I asked her what she meant. She then told me that my boyfriend had broken up with me, and she just wanted to make sure I was handling it alright. I had to find out my relationship was over from my mom. FML

Today, after I supported my friends through heartbreak, had long conversations at 4 a.m., stayed late at work to help through breakdowns, I finally broke after a series of bad experiences. I decided to reach out. All I got was, "lol that sucks", "Oh, would you believe the week I had" or simply no response. FML

Today, I got the flu. Feeling really sick and depressed, I called my boyfriend to get some comfort. When he didn't answer his phone, I called his house, only to hear his mother telling me, "He was so sad that you guys broke up." I didn't know. FML

Today, I got a text from my girlfriend saying she needed more phone credit, so I bought her more and got another message saying "Great, now I have enough credit for this..." as she spelled out a three page message breaking up with me. Yes, I paid for her to break up with me via text. FML

Hey, she tried at least. It's hard enough being supportive over text, and maybe she didn't even have faith in the relationship. Don't know all the context, so I can't say for sure, but maybe you should stop having a pity party for yourself when she already tried to be somewhat supportive.

Well what did you expect her to say? You were texting her. If you have to send her a monologue in over 50 pages of 3-sentence texts about how your boyfriend broke up with you and it's the end of the world, don't expect intelligent responses. She can't to anything to fix it, only be there for you, which she can't be if you're not even seeing or hearing her. And maybe she was in a bad service area. It happens all the time to me, I don't see why that wouldn't be plausible.

Exactly! Sometimes my phone wont send or receive txts if I'm in a crappy service area. If it's bothering you this much, talk about it with her...NICELY!
