I believe this was apocryphally tried by a large group of women in Ancient Greece to get their husbands to comply with some request or another, I think ending a war, and they had to put a watch out to make sure the women wouldn't go sneaking off to their husbands. Granted now we have vibrators, while all those women had were carved wooden phalluses and olive oil, so probably can't compare.
