Are you sure it’s a double chin, or is it just a regular chin that you’re not used to anymore? You’re so, SO strong for managing to get this far. But recovery, from any mental illness, is an ongoing fight, and relapse is common. Please remember that, and please keep fighting.
You likely have body dysmorphia which is one root cause of anorexia. Most people can bend their head and neck to create the appearance of a double chin.
Also, the neck skin tends to loosen with age, which gives a double chin to most people. It's not just Honey Boo Boo's mother.
Don't get discouraged! Take heart; the road to a healthy weight after an eating disorder has its detours. Congrats on your progress thus far!
Stay strong! I'm sure you look great!
It is actually common to do the exact opposite. My daughter was anorexic/avoidance and when she started eating it got out of hand. It happens when the root isn’t treated sufficiently and you basically just get the “ok” to eat from someone. They praise you for eating and it can go overboard for validation.
you're an amazing individual with amazing resilience. recovery from EDs is tough and long. it's possible that your chin looks different due to body dysmorphia (the cause of most EDs) or because you're not used to seeing yourself at a healthy weight. either way, I bet you look amazing and I'm rooting for you and your recovery 💟
