Today, when I went to the shopping centre, the automatic door wouldn't open for me. I had to stand there and wait until someone else walked by to open it for me. I have dwarfism and this is a daily occurrence. FML

hey there OP. sometimes at my school staff disables the sensor (I think) and it's possible to push the doors apart by hand. might be worth giving it a try next time. it's probably possible as a safety feature.

Become an actor. It's a growth industry. Doors will open for you.

Finally, an actual FML. All the other FML's are like "Today, my toaster wouldn't work so I had to microwave my poptarts. FML"

Bring the problem to the managements attention. It may be awkward for you, but it's either an uncomfortable conversation once or having this same issue repeat itself whenever you visit this store... They will most likely just need to reposition their sensor.

I have the same problem and I'm almost six feet tall and well over six feet when I'm wearing heels. I've walked into more than a few automatic doors that just don't see me for some reason.

I feel like this isn't true. I mean they work for kids all the time, why not for those with dwarfism? If it is true, sorry

Start carrying a balloon around with you everywhere. Maybe the sensors will see you then.

I never thought about that... I know some sensors don't read so low to avoid children from leaving without an adult and this is an unforseen consequence because average people don't think about that.

Don't worry OP. You're not short. You're fun sized. :D
