This is stupid. To the OP, dont listen to douchebags who have no sense of humility. I bet you EVERY person in here has screwed up, just like this, somewhere in their life. And if you havent, its cause your a wee child, but dont worry, the experiance will come to you as well. This was a great FML, and the guys wife isnt an idiot. She is ignorant, in the way she did not know the finer points of pumping gas, and all she did was try to help, and save some cash. That doesnt make her stupid, that makes her uneducated in one aspect of life... OH NOES, cause all you calling her down are geniuses right? Ha. Try some empathy, humility, and dont take shit so serious. But I guess not taking things serious is how you asshats came to the fine opinion of "Shes an idiot" rather than using your head before you said anything. @ 89 - yes, really! As if none of these people have ever screwed up before. I bet you a lot of them have fallen for the gas station trick where they switch regular and premium on different sides of the pump. The gas station by my house does it, so if you're not paying attention and reach for where regular unleaded would be on the side you are used to, you might wind up paying for premium instead. :| I fell for it once, when I first got my new car. Fortunately, it was after gas prices had dropped severely so it wasn't too bad. But ever since then, I've always taken care to check which grade I'm really getting. Yes, she was ignorant here and it was unfortunate, but she was trying to be helpful. It certainly doesn't warrant a divorce :P

Hahahahahaha. my dad owns a company and one of his dumbass employees did this once. we had to replace EVERYTHING. he got fired

I ususally give people the benefit of the doubt. Everyone has dumb moments, but there's a fine line between a silly mistake and just downright stupidity. Don't let her pump the gas anymore.
