Herpes is spread by bodily fluids. Any disease that can be contracted through sex can also spread by blood. Thus, if you accidentally got someone else's blood in a cut, in an eye or in your mouth, you can get their herpes.

Docbastard-where are u? Could u settle this argument? Also-I had a virologist tell me I was born with antibodies to herpes from my mother and since I am in my mid 30s without ever having an outbreak(cervix was checked) that I can not transmit and may be immune. I call bullshit-is immunity possible?

if he has a cold sore then goes down on u you can get herpes then y'all have sex ta-da u both got it, same works for him
