Today, my daughter-in-law revealed to me that she caught my husband having an affair with her best friend. This was five years ago, and she is only telling me now because he stopped paying her the blackmail money to keep her mouth shut. FML

I would at least try to make things work with hubby, only if that was his only screw up!! Then I would get all the money hubby paid DIL back, it was your money too. Tell your son his wife is no longer welcome in your home or she might get hurt.

I wouldn't be angry with your daughter-in-law (I mean, honestly, what daughter-in-law would know how to bring that up with her mother-in-law?) if she hadn't been taking hush money for five years. Still, the person who is responsible for the sanctity of your wedding vows is the one you married, so I'd direct 99% of my vitriol at him.
