Today, I was speeding a little on the highway. I thought I saw a police car, so I slammed on my brakes, causing the person behind me to rear end me. The "police car" I saw was just a broken down car on the side of the road. FML

Today, while driving extremely fast on a road in the middle of nowhere, I started to go down a hill. Noticing a police car at the bottom, I slammed my brakes and blew a tire in the process. It turns out the police car was an old cutout used to trick people. FML

Today, I was driving a little over the speed limit, when I saw a cop car waiting to join the road ahead of me. I quickly hit the brakes so they wouldn't have a payday with me. I hit the brakes too hard, lost control and almost ended up on someone's lawn. FML

Today, there was a traffic accident on the highway which I normally take. I couldn't resist laughing at the driver since he was stupid enough to rear-end someone on the highway. What I didn't realize is that I forgot to pay attention to the road and rear-ended the car in front of me. FML

Today, I was driving home from work and noticed the car behind me was tailgating me pretty badly. I was starting to get angry with the driver, and kept glancing in my rear view mirror at him. While I was doing so, the traffic ahead of me stopped, and I rear-ended the car in front of me. FML

Today, I crashed into a pole on purpose as a cop pulled me over for speeding. I figured the officer would feel bad for me and that the cost of fixing my car would be less than a ticket. He gave me one anyway. FML

that's ridiculous you don't slam on the brakes like that's not obvious you let go of the gas pedal and slowly slow down it's not completly obvious and a hell of a lot safer YDI for being dumb really....

You're an asshole. If people driving big trucks aren't prepared for something like that, they will almost always rear end you. Slamming on your brakes wouldn't have helped you in that situation anyway.

first off, if you were "speeding a little" you wouldnt have needed to slam on the breaks. now this really annoys me. when you are driving (/probably speeding) and see a police car, why slam on the breaks? the only thing that does is make you stick out like a sore thumb and startle the person behind you into most likely rear ending you. if youre scared of getting pulled over then dont speed.
