Today, I was rejected from the University of Washington. My dad has been a professor there for 30 years, and is on the board of admissions. FML

Same thing different taste

Today, I got a large envelope from a college I applied to earlier. My mom, expecting big news, made my family gather round as I opened it. It ended up being a letter of rejection from not just that school, but all three campuses of the state college. FML

Today, I received my acceptance letter to one of the most prestigious universities in the US, as well as a nice scholarship. I was so proud of myself, I eagerly showed my dad, hoping he would shed a tear or two. His only words were, "Just get a job so you can get the hell out of my house." FML

Today, when taking a group picture with my closest friends, a passing parent congratulated us on getting into the same university for next year. She's wrong. They're all going to Cambridge, except for me. I was rejected. FML

Today, I got an offer to study at a good university. My father has been pushing me to apply for years, so I ecstatically broke the news. Instead of congratulating me, he just grunted and delivered the more important news that he's divorcing my mum. Moment ruined. FML

Today, I found out that I was denied for work study eligibility by my college. I went to my financial advisor to ask why. It wasn't my grades or attendance. Apparently my father makes too much money for me to get a job at the school. My dad was fired 3 months ago and has been out of work since. FML

he probably didn't let you in to be fair to the other people who applied to the school. i think he probably didn't want to be subconsciously playing favorites, so he judged you a bit more harshly and critically than other people who applied. but seriously, did you expect you would get in just cuz your dad was on the admissions board?

once upon a time, there was this little duck. he was living very happily with his family until his dad died. not long after, his mother remarried. his stepfather duck was abusive and beat the little duck up. the little duck was confused and hurt. one day, he finally decides to live in another family. where did he go? to Oregon. cuz their ducks never beat anyone.
