Today, I was lecturing my high school students on the importance of a good education. I pointed out the janitor in the hall and told them if they didn't stay in school, they'd end up like him. Then one of my students raised her hand and reminded me that the janitor I pointed to was her dad. FML

Today, my maths teacher was giving my whole class a lecture on 'if you don't pay attention at school, you will fail.' She then pointed out out a man working on the roof and said: 'if you don't listen, you will end up like that guy.' That was my dad. FML
Today, I was talking to one of my supervisors at my new job. He asked if I knew a professor at the school I recently graduated from, and I decided to babble on about how shitty of a professor he was and how much I loathed his class. He then looked at me and said, "That's my dad." FML
Today, the mother of one of my students bitched me out about her son's poor grades. He lazes around all day, paying no attention and being a constant nuisance. But, she says it's not his fault, and demands that I give him better grades so he won't get "self-esteem" issues. FML
Today, I lectured my second-grade class to be more descriptive in their writing. I gave them an assignment to describe something in the classroom. I was grading their work later, and one student wrote, "My class is taught by a fat teacher with gray hair." FML
Today, I was sent to an elementary school for safety day. One of the dads was asking about my job, when I told him about the long hours and high stress involved. He turned to his son and said, "Now see why you stay in school?" I'm a paramedic. With a bachelor's degree. FML
Today, I was doing my job and trying to teach a lazy bunch of 16-year-olds. A girl entered the room just 15 minutes before class ended, so I snapped, "Someone had better have died for you to be this late!" She immediately burst into tears. Turns out, someone had. FML
Today, I had to go to my 10 year-old son's school to talk about my job being a chef. As I was almost finished, I asked the kids "What would you like to do when you grow up?" Without hesitation one kid replied with a straight face, "Anything but being a douchebag like you." FML
Today, my philosophy teacher asked me about my parents. I replied that my mum was a cleaner and my dad was a bus driver. In an astonished voice, she said, "But, you're clever..." FML
Today, I was sternly told that if I didn't pass more students, I would be out of a job. I then went to my class to collect papers, and was stymied by how I could be giving passing grades to the 12 of 24 who didn't turn anything in. College students. FML
Today, I accused a student in my class of getting his dad to do his homework. It turns out that his dad died two years ago. FML

There's nothing that says a janitor isn't educated, not everyone can land their dream job, but at least he's a contributing member of society. How is being in the Army or any form of military EVER something to be looked down on ? People in the military work their asses off protecting rights and freedoms that most Americans take for granted and never think twice about . That teacher sounds like just as muc an ignorant bitch as this one does . On another hand, thank you for serving our country ! Its something not everyone would be willing or able to do, and it can be difficult, you and anyone else who serves their country (with the exception of terrorists . . .) has my respect .

That's a load of shit! My dad is in the military. He works in Intel, so he's pretty damn smart. I'd love to see whoever puts down the military fighting on the front lines. See how long you last, then. It's a really touchy subject. I almost lost my father over this.

Just throwing this out there, I'm a high school teacher and I make $72k a year. To me, salary is not really the issue here, op's blatant disrespect for fellow human beings is the issue. To reduce it to a totem pole of who makes more money further negates a janitors true worth in their environment.

WOW, you deserve EVERY negative comment you got! I sincerely hope the principal and school board have a few words with you regarding your "holier-than-thou" attitude. Never judge someone by what they do for a living. That janitor is a person with feelings and for all you know is probably a better person than you. I have a couple of friends that are janitors and garbage men and they are some of the nicest, most generous and genuine people I know. You're a real creep!
