Today, I got my first tattoo. It was a surprise for my fiancé: our names together over a heart. I went home but before I could show him, he said we had to have a 'talk.' Now my ex's name is tattooed on my back. The kicker? Turns out I'm allergic to the ink. FML

Today, I got a tattoo with my boyfriend's name on it. As we're coworkers, I showed it to him thinking he’d love it. He told me he couldn’t continue the relationship anymore since he realized he wants to fix things with his wife. Three hours of pain and 2 years down the drain. FML

Today on my birthday, my wife thought it would be a good idea to get matching tattoos. Our tattoo artist happened to be her ex-boyfriend. I sat and listened to them talk about their relationship and how they should stay in touch. FML

Today, I went to get a tattoo. I decided on getting my four month daughter's name tattooed on my upper arm. I went home to show my wife. She broke down and told me that I'm most likely not the father. It's a toss-up between her co-worker, the guy who does our lawn, several strangers and me. FML

This is why you never tattoo a name on yourself. Try something symbolic, that way if this happens, it's just a tattoo and doesn't have to mean anything anymore

sooooooo... that was very dumb. tattoos are nasty and it's dumb to get someone who you aren't even legally attached to yet (married) tattooed on you. good luck with that.

lol @ #28 Hindsight is 20/20...but you really do need to do the research on any tattoo anyway. Even with a picture or something, you want to be careful that it isn't associated with a gang or anything.

See, this is only justification to the Cardinal Rule of tattoos which is "Never get a tattoo of your significant other." This process is pretty much a straight shot to jinxing the whole thing. Think about it, of all the people who have the names of their lovers tattooed on them, how many of those relationships lasted? I rest my case.

tattoos are an awesome expression of things you value, but relationships with people change over time. what was true when u got the ink, might not be true later in life. if the person the tattoo commemorates is dead, then its just a memorial tattoo. id suggest getting a cover-up, but ur allergic to the ink. next-time, dont be so n00bi5h. XFD
